Join us for the #HOCRSurvivorRow4702!

Dear Friends,

Please join us throughout the month of October as Rowing Cares celebrates its 30th anniversary. We have exciting news to share all month.

Every October, the nation observes National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and for the fourth year, Rowing Cares is proud to host our Pink the Boathouse Challenge as we rededicate ourselves to supporting patients and their families, boosting access to care, and raising awareness about the life-saving importance of early screening.

We honor all those we have lost to this terrible disease and celebrate the courageous survivors and advocates fighting to beat it, along with the loved ones and medical providers who have their backs every day.

Join us for the #HOCRSurvivorRow4702

Rowing Cares and the newly formed Survivor Rowing Network (SRN), designed to expand the category “Survivor Rowing”, have entered two boats of cancer survivors in the Head of the Charles regatta. Twelve survivors along with their two MIT coxswains compose our two Collaborative Boats (Grand Masters Women’s 8+ and 4+). 11 of the 12 rowers have never competed in the Head of Charles, three have never competed in a Head race, ever and 11 only found rowing after completing treatment.

We Challenge you, your friends, family and teammates to row alongside these two boats, the length of the Head of the Charles course and show the athletes they are not alone, while also raising funds so more survivors can find rowing for recovery, rehabilitation and socialization.

Let’s give them our support!

We Challenge you to complete a 4,702 meter* row on the water or erg, or walk/run the 3.2 mile equivalent. If you’re competing at HOCR, just register and enter the time of your boat. Register on RegattaCentral.
