  • Is Rowing Cares an official Charity?

    Yes! In 2011, Rowing Cares incorporated as officially became a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

  • Why support Rowing Cares?

    Many rowers and paddlers are so dedicated to their sport that when Cancer touches their lives, the network of friends in the water community is a natural resource for making a difference. Now all water sport participants have a ready made avenue to make that happen.

  • Where does my money go?

    Your donations will be distributed as grants to qualified programs which benefit cancer patients and survivors and toward research.

    We support:

    Community health organizations which support local cancer patients and their families with programs such as peer-to-peer counseling, financial assistance, patient navigation and transportation

    Rowing organizations which empower cancer survivors through rehabilitation and exercise programs while providing camaraderie, support and socialization

  • I'm not a rower. Can I still host an event?

    Yes! Contact us for help reaching others in your community who are interested.

  • What does a host organization do?

    The hosting committee selects an appropriate date, decides on the type of event, contacts the local community beneficiary, and arranges for support services.

  • What kind of help can I get for my event?

    When you register your event, you will be provided with a start-up kit which includes all kinds of tools you can use to make your event a success.

  • Why RegattaCentral?

    RegattaCentral contributes time and resources to Rowing Cares. Rowing Cares regattas receive discounted registration. RegattaCentral also contributes online fundraising at deep discount to Rowing Cares.

  • Why USRowing?

    Through our partnership with USRowing, they work with their membership to increase participation in the events and promote Rowing Cares regattas. The regatta series, which attracts primarily master rowers age 27 and up as well as juniors is underwritten in part by USRowing, and includes more than 200 clubs across the country with more than 800 entries. USRowing also provides no-cost regatta insurance provided to Rowing Cares regattas.
