Rowing Cares Partners with The Cancer Research Institute

Rowing Cares Partners with The Cancer Research Institute
Wilton CT - November 3, 2023

Rowing Cares and The Cancer Research Institute (CRI) have announced a new partnership, engaging the rowing community in support of cancer immunotherapy research.

“Throughout our 30 year history, supporting research has been key to our mission and vitally important to the rowing community as cancer has touched so many,“ said Rowing Cares Executive Director Beth Kohl. “CRI provides the leading scientific minds from around the world with the funding needed to make lifesaving immunotherapies an effective option for patients. The goals of our two organizations are perfectly aligned.”

“It is particularly meaningful at this time to announce our strategic partnership with CRI. In addition to celebrating our 30th anniversary, we recently launched the Survivor Rowing Network (SRN), hosted the 4th annual Pink the Boathouse campaign in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month and, for the first time, took two boats of cancer survivors to the world’s largest rowing regatta, the Head of the Charles. It’s a critical time in our evolution strengthened by partnering with one of the world’s most important cancer research institutions.“

“CRI is proud to partner with Rowing Cares, an organization that is just as passionate as we are about creating a world immune to cancer,” said Jill O’Donnell-Tormey, PhD, CRI’s CEO and director of scientific affairs. “We are inspired by the dedication and perseverance of the Rowing Cares community of cancer survivors and look forward to working together to raise awareness and fund life-saving research in immunotherapy.”
